British operator 888 Holdings announced that they are considering a full departure from the US market due to significant competition by the end of 2024.
Earlier this week, the company declared the termination of a partnership agreement with Sports Illustrated, through which they operated bookmaking and casino platforms.
To exit this deal, 888 had to pay $25 million in cash, with an additional $25 million to be paid between 2027 and 2029. Despite the high price, the agreement will save the company $6-7 million over the next two years.
888 operates in Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia under the Sports Illustrated brand. The company also operates under its own brand, 888, in New Jersey.
