Spanish figure skater Laura Barquero has been banned for six years for violating anti-doping regulations. This was reported by Hielo Espanol.
Three days before the Winter Olympics in Beijing, Barquero tested positive for the banned substance clostebol. The following year, another test also confirmed the presence of clostebol in her system.
Her ban started after the results of the first doping test. It is noted that during the investigation, Barquero ended her career as a competitive athlete.
At the 2022 Olympics, she competed alongside Marco Zandron and finished in 11th place.
