French biathlete and current World Cup winner Julia Simon has been arrested on fraud charges, French newspaper Le Dauphine reported.
The 27-year-old athlete was arrested on Tuesday, October 24, in Albertville. She has been charged with fraud.
As Telecomasia.net reported in July, Simon is suspected of using other people's credit cards, which she used to make purchases worth €1,000 to €2,000.
The biathlete herself denies the charges and claims that her identity was used by others to commit the crime.
The new season in the Biathlon World Cup starts on November 25 in Ostersund, Sweden.
