In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, Ivan "OneJey" Zhivitsky, support player for Chimera Esports, shared the reasons for the team's recent success in DreamLeague Season 25.
Currently, Chimera Esports is at the top of the leaderboard in the second group stage, boasting four wins without any losses. Zhivitsky commented on the team's results:
I'm really happy we can play so well and beat some of the top teams from the CIS – it's something special.
OneJey named the factors contributing to Chimera’s significant improvement in February:
We simply let go of all expectations and started having fun. Surprisingly, the less you stress about something, the better you do at it. Perhaps it also has to do with the end of a long bootcamp, and we’re home now, in our comfort zone. Maybe we’ve found our flow.
Zhivitsky mentioned a key figure behind the team's success in the new patch:
The patch release was positive for us. Besides, we have a new coach, Alagon. He and panto analyze the meta and consult us about the heroes. Everything is running smoothly, and we are developing new strategies for drafts and in-game.
OneJey does not rule out the possibility of Chimera Esports continuing with its current lineup:
Personally, I don’t rule out anything, especially since we are playing so well right now. So why not try again? This is the best result in my career, and I’m glad to be with all the guys on the team, despite some issues and misunderstandings. I'm really thankful they put up with my toxicity.
At the time of this publication, Chimera Esports leads the second group stage standings. The team has triumphed over Team Spirit, BetBoom Team, Heroic, and Team Liquid. In their match against BetBoom Team, which ended 2:1, Chimera picked Enigma and Storm Spirit three times, while also drafting Nature's Prophet and Muerta twice during the series.
Chimera Esports Dota 2 roster includes:
- Aybek "TA2000" Tokayev
- Artem "lorenof" Melnick
- Nikita "Daxak" Kuzmin
- Ivan "OneJey" Zhivitsky
- Nikita "pantomem" Balaganin
DreamLeague Season 25 is being held online from February 16 to March 2. A total of 16 teams are competing for a prize pool of one million dollars and 20,440 ESL Pro Tour points.
