Olympic Organizers Reveal Alternative To Traditional Olympic Flame

Luc Rémont, chairman and CEO of EDF (France's government-owned electric utility), revealed that the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony was lit without the use of carbon fuel.

Thanks to an innovation by EDF, the Paris 2024 Cauldron will shine for the first time with a 100% electric flame. This 'electric revolution' was made possible thanks to the monumental work carried out by our teams and designer Mathieu Lehanneur. Their creativity and innovative strength have made it possible to design a flame without fossil fuel combustion, a flame made of water and light.

Recall that the 33rd Summer Olympics will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.

Moreover, Mark Adams, a representative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), commented on the incident involving an upside-down Olympic flag during the opening ceremony, stating that he does not consider this as the end of the world.
