On Tuesday, August 6, the Summer Olympics in Paris (France) awarded 26 sets of medals across nine different sports.
The United States leads the medal tally with 24 gold, 31 silver, and 31 bronze medals. China follows in second place with 22 gold, 20 silver, and 16 bronze medals, while Australia ranks third with 14 gold, 12 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
A total of 10,500 athletes from 206 national teams will compete at the Paris Olympics.
The Olympic Games in the French capital are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.
