The legal company Help Forsikring has ended its partnership with the Norwegian ski jumping team following a scandal at the World Championships in Trondheim.
Help Forsikring communications director Dag Are Børresen for NRK
We informed the team and the Norwegian Ski Federation of the immediate termination of our sponsorship contract. Our logo will be removed from the athletes' gear and uniforms before the start of the Raw Air tournaments and the festival in Holmenkollen
The conflict arose due to the disqualification of Olympic champions Marius Lindvik, Johann Andre Forfang, and nordic combined athlete Joergen Graabak. The athletes were suspended for using suits with reinforced thread in the groin area, which improved aerodynamics and violated FIS rules.
Jan-Erik Aalbu, head of jumping at the Norwegian Federation, admitted to the manipulation and took responsibility for the violation. The FIS has launched an investigation.
