Five-time Olympic champion in biathlon, Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bø has announced that he plans to retire from sports at the end of the current season.

Johannes Thingnes Bø at a press conference
For 13 years I have been part of the world's best national team, with the world's best sponsors behind me. Now I feel that the time has come to prioritize the family. Let's enjoy the last races together, before we end (at the World Cup Finals) with a bang in Holmenkollen on March 20-23!

It’s worth noting that Bø is a 20-time world champion, a five-time overall World Cup winner, and has won nine Olympic medals including five golds.
