A second positive doping test has been found among participants at the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This was announced by the press service of the International Testing Agency (ITA).
Nigerian boxer Cynthia Ogunsemilore failed to pass the test for banned substances. The athlete will be suspended from the Olympics but has the right to contest the charges at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and can request the results of her B sample.
It has been noted that the 22-year-old Ogunsemilore is also prohibited from training with the Nigerian national team, coaching, or participating in any activities during the Olympic Games in Paris.
Ogunsemilore competes in the lightweight division in boxing and is the winner of the 2023 African Games.
