French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which took place on Friday, July 26.
Macron was quoted by RMC as saying:
Bravo to all the artists, organizers, police, administrators, ministers, volunteers. From the Minister for the Interior, to all of the performers, a huge well done and be very proud, you have made France shine. Bravo!
The main part of the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics took place along the riverbanks and on the waters of the Seine. The Olympic flag was raised on a flagpole near the Eiffel Tower, and the Olympic flame was lit on a balloon that was subsequently launched high above Paris.
