Jamaican Hammer Thrower Misses Olympic Opportunity Due To Internet Issues

Jamaican hammer thrower Nayoka Clunis will not be competing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris due to internet problems experienced by the country’s athletics association (JAAA).

The Games are scheduled to take place in the French capital from July 26 to August 11.

According to the Jamaica Observer, the JAAA did not enter Clunis in the Games, explaining the situation was caused by a lack of electricity and internet access due to a hurricane.

Clunis is a record holder in Jamaica and a multiple-time national champion. In 2023, she claimed her fourth championship title in hammer throw at the Jamaican Championships.
