Israeli Swimmer Gorbenko Misses Olympic Final Due to IOC Dinner Conflict

Israeli swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko missed the final of the 200-meter individual medley event at the 2024 Olympics due to a dinner organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

As reported by Ynetnews, Gorbenko learned about the dinner just 25 minutes before her event while heading there. The situation has resulted in significant disappointment among the Israeli delegation. Gorbenko is a silver medalist from the World Championships and a two-time winner of the short course world championships.

The Olympics features approximately 10,500 participants from 206 national teams.

The Olympic Games in the French capital are taking place from July 26 to August 11.
