French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced that there have been 23 attempts to disrupt the Olympic torch relay.
The attempts to halt the relay were linked to demonstrations in support of Palestine. Supporters of migrant rights and eco-activists also tried to disrupt the relay, along with four cases related to opponents of the Olympic Games.
It is worth noting that the Olympic flame was brought to Marseille on May 8 and will reach Paris by July 26. During this time, it will pass through 400 cities and towns, covering a total distance of 12,000 kilometers. About ten thousand torchbearers, including celebrities, will ensure the delivery.
The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11.
