On April 13, Falcons defeated G2 with a score of 3–0 in the grand final of PGL Bucharest 2025. This tournament marked the last appearance of Abdul “degster” Gasanov in the Falcons lineup — he will soon be replaced by Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov, former PARIVISION coach and ex-analyst for Cloud9 and Gambit, shared his thoughts on the grand final and the roster changes at G2 and Falcons in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net.
According to Kochugov, G2’s loss didn’t come as a big surprise due to individual form issues:
G2’s game is pretty simple and easy to read. NiKo knew how to counter it. Recently, malbsMd has been underperforming in NiKo’s roles, and huNter- has just been very inconsistent. HeavyGod showed his skills well at PGL Bucharest, but m0NESY lacked some in the final.
F_1N believes that G2’s management should consider a roster rebuild right after m0NESY’s departure:
I’ve already said that with m0NESY leaving, it might be time to rebuild G2. Maybe they need a new captain and coach. huNter-’s performance depends heavily on his motivation — he’s very unstable, but it’s good to see that he’s still capable of showing solid game.
He also talked about degster’s future, the question that hasn’t yet been answered by any major insiders yet:
Where do I see Abdul after Falcons? In G2.
For context, Falcons won the PGL Bucharest 2025 title and took home $200,000 in prize money. HLTV named degster the MVP of the tournament — it was the first such honor of his career, and his first major trophy on the professional scene.
