In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, European wrestling champion Murad Nukhadiev shared his thoughts on the recent news regarding the admission of silver medalist Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau to participate in the Paris Olympics.
Murad Nukhadiev exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
The news about Kadzimahamedau's admission was a pleasant surprise, as if some kind of miracle had happened. I want to point out his strong determination. He was the key figure who insisted on filing a legal appeal with the IOC. It's important to commend the efforts of the Belarus Wrestling Federation, which did not give up and, with the help of lawyers, made it possible. Kadzimahamedau now has a chance to win an Olympic medal. This Olympics will feature several champions from Russia, including Chermen Valiev, Khetag Tsabolov, Razambek Zhamalov and Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau.
Previously, the IOC had banned Kadzimahamedau from participating in the Paris Olympic Games. Together with his legal team, Mahamedkhabib filed a protest with the IOC and was soon granted the opportunity to compete in the Olympics. Kadzimahamedau will compete in the weight category of up to 74 kilograms.
