A minor resident of the Netherlands stole around €500,000 euros from his grandfather's savings account, and lost it on bets in 18 online casinos.
The 77-year-old man has filed a lawsuit against Bingoal gambling company, where his grandson initially registered using his father's documents. The young man lost €162,500 in Bingoal.
The pensioner believes that the bookmaker should have blocked the account from which suspiciously large sums were being lost. Furthermore, betting operators in Europe are required to verify income sources when large sums are lost.
The victim hopes to get back the lost €162,500 euros from Bingoal in court, and also demands that the bookmaker be held responsible for the rest of the money his grandson lost in other bookmakers, as if the company had taken measures to block the gaming account, the young man would not have had the chance to lose so much money.
Bingoal has filed a counterclaim against the young man, accusing him of fraud.
