Reddit forum users criticized Team Spirit players because of the voice lines in the match against Evil Geniuses at The International 12 (2023) Dota 2 championship.
Dota 2 fans created a thread titled "Team Spirit disrespect". The screenshot below shows Spirit players using the phrase 'Adios payasos', which translates to "Goodbye, clowns". The voice line is recorded in Spanish, the language of Evil Geniuses players.
Despite the outrage of the community, part of the users said that there was nothing offensive in it, as Valve itselves approved the phrase for Dota 2. Others noted that EG players are laid-back guys and wouldn't be offended by that.

TI12 takes place from October 12 to 29 in LAN-format in Seattle, USA. The 20 best teams from all over the world take part in the main Dota 2 tournament of the year. The prize pool is currently a little over $3 million.
