
A charity event dedicated to the memory of plane crash victims will take place at the home arena of the Washington Capitals. This announcement was made by the National Hockey League (NHL) press office.
The event is set for March 2 and will feature figure skaters, including Ilia Malinin, Amber Glenn, Alice Liu, Madison Chock, Evan Bates, and others. Additionally, the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards’ basketball team players will take part as well.
All proceeds will go toward supporting the families of the victims, as well as the emergency responders and professionals who worked at the tragedy site.
On January 30, passenger plane American Airlines flight 5342, traveling from Wichita to Washington, crashed after colliding with a Black Hawk military helicopter. A total of 67 people lost their lives, including figure skaters returning from the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
