On January 5, Carlos Sainz Sr. got in an accident at the second stage of the Dakar Rally Raid, flipping his Ford Raptor at the 327 km mark. This information comes from Marca.
According to the source, Carlos Sainz and his co-driver Lucas Cruz are uninjured, and another Ford crew helped flip their vehicle back onto its wheels, allowing them to continue the race despite the damage.
It’s noted that there are still around 40 hours of racing ahead, and the Spanish driver's car is significantly damaged, making it uncertain whether they will be able to finish. According to competition rules, crews are not allowed to receive assistance from their service teams.
