Australian road cyclist, 2012 Olympic silver medalist and 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Rohan Dennis has been detained on suspicion of murdering his wife, the Daily Mail reported.
Dennis, 33, is reportedly charged with causing fatal injuries by dangerous driving and endangering life. According to the source, Dennis was released on bail and will appear in court on March 13.
The incident occurred on the evening of December 30 near the Australian city of Adelaide. As a result of the accident, Dennis' wife, three-time world championship medalist cyclist Melissa Hoskins was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she died.
Dennis and Hoskins announced their engagement in 2017, after which the athlete announced her retirement. They had two children.
