The organizing committee for the 2026 Winter Olympics, set to take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, has revealed the design of the official torches for the XXV Winter Olympics.
The unveiling ceremony took place today, April 14, in Milan, as reported by the Associated Press.
A standout feature of the torches is their focus on recycled materials. The innovative design allows the fuel chamber to be refilled up to ten times, which, according to the organizers, significantly reduces the overall number of torches required. The Olympic torch is made from a combination of aluminum and brass, painted in blue-green shades, while the Paralympic torch has a bronze tone.
These torches will be used in the relay of the Olympic flame, which is set to begin on November 26 in ancient Olympia. On December 6, 2025, the flame will arrive in Rome before traveling a route of 12,000 km across Italy, with 10,001 torchbearers participating.
The Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo will take place from February 6 to 22, 2026.
