WTA’s thirty-six ranked Spanish Sara Sorribes beat Russian Anastasia Zakharova 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 32 during the Ostrava Open. Sara won 37 service points, won five out of six breakpoints, committed just one double faul compared to Anastasia’s four, and had control over the game throughout. Her next game is going to be against WTA number eleven Belinda Bencic.
Meanwhile Sara’s compatriot Paula Badosa beat Russia’s Varvara Gracheva 6-2, 6-2. The twenty-seven ranked player won four out of nine breakpoints. She also won 31 receiving points compared to Varvara’s 13 and won 79% on first serves. This marked the second meeting between the two during the month as Varvara ended Paula’s US Open campaign winning 6-4. 6-4.
