South Africa continues to dominate the ODI series versus West Indies taking a four-nil lead. South Africa batted first and put on 185 but the West Indies could only reach 150 after the completion of 50 overs. South Africa’s Dane van Niekerk took three wickets for 23 runs to win the Player of the Match award as the West Indies women lost to a South African unit that rested their first-choice players in Sune Luus, Trisha Chetty, Lizelle Lee, Ayobanga Khaka, and Marizzane Kapp.
West Indies bowlers limited South African to 185 with veteran Mignon du Preez leading the way with a 65 runs innings. Stand-in captain Anisa Mohammad bagged two for twenty-six for West Indies. Once again, West Indies openers went to the Pavillion early and except Rashada Williams’ 42 the team’s effort remained underwhelming with the bat. West Indies has not made more than 157 runs in this series in any innings. The South African team gave chances to players like Simone Jafta, Nadine de Clerk, Tazmin Britts, etc. who usually linger on the bench.
