USA-based National Women’s Soccer League(NWSL) has postponed its upcoming games due to the allegations on coach Paul Riley by a host of players and staff. North Carolina Cougars coach has fired the coach but the players who have suffered abuse under him are not satisfied yet. Alex Morgan, the national team stalwart revealed the anguish over the league’s “mishandling” of complaints about more than a decade.
Although the league commissioner Lisa Baird said she has been “sorry for the pain” suffered by athletes of NWSL, players like Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe have not been satisfied with the league’s handling of things. With the rise of sexual misconduct allegations against people of power, FIFA has also voiced “concerns” and has called for “detailed investigation”.
