Defenseman Adam Fox has inked a huge seven-year deal with the New York Rangers. The deal is worth $66.5 million, making it the highest for a defenseman in NFL history who is coming out of an entry-level contract. Fox is also currently the holder of the James Norris Memorial Trophy that is awarded to the best defenseman in the NHL. Last season, Fox led all the defensemen in assists with 42 and finished second among defensemen in the points tally with 47.
Chris Drury, General Manager, New York Rangers
We are thrilled that we have agreed to terms with Adam on a contract extension and that he will continue to play for the team he grew up cheering for. In just over two seasons, Adam has consistently shown why he is a cornerstone for our organization and one of the best players in the NHL. It has been a privilege for us, and our fans, to watch Adam showcase his ability on a nightly basis, and we are glad to have that opportunity for seven more years.
