I think this fight is very likely to happen. I made a comment on his post and I said, ‘I want to fight Umar in January.’ And he said, ‘If Merab doesn’t fight me, I will fight you.’ But I think this depends on Merab… If not him, anybody else. I’m ready for anybody, just want to fight in January.
Yadong last fought in the octagon in March 2024 at UFC 299, where he lost to Petr Yan by unanimous decision. His record stands at 21 wins, eight losses, and one draw, with one fight declared a no contest.
Nurmagomedov last competed in August 2024 at UFC on ABC 7, winning against Cory Sandhagen by unanimous decision. He boasts a record of 18 wins and no losses.
