The winner of the fight between Australian fighter Robert Whittaker and UAE representative Khamzat Chimaev will become the next challenger for the UFC middleweight championship belt. This was announced by the executive director of the promotion Dana White.
Recall, the fight between Chimaev and Whittaker will headline the UFC Saudi Arabia tournament, which will take place on June 22 in Saudi Arabia.
Whittaker, 33, last stepped into the octagon in February 2024 at UFC 298, defeating Paulo Costa by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 25 wins and seven losses on his record.
Chimaev, 29, last fought in October 2023 at UFC 294, defeating Kamaru Usman by majority decision of the judges. He has 13 wins and no losses on his record.
