Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker said he wants to see the division's sixth-ranked Sean Strickland as his next opponent.
Robert Whittaker said on the MMArcade podcast
Remember we ruled out Sean Strickland, because we thought he was fighting Izzy in September. But that doesn’t look to be happening anymore… I can’t see Sean Strickland jumping Dricus if they don’t fight September. I’m not gonna rule him out of the discussion of my next fight.
Strickland, 32, fought against Abus Magomedov on July 2 at UFC Vegas 76. In this confrontation, Sean won by technical knockout in the second round. He has 27 wins and five losses on his account.
Whittaker, 32, lost by technical knockout in the second round to Dricus du Plessis on July 9 at UFC 290. Robert has 24 wins and seven losses under his belt.
