UFC president Dana White has spoken out regarding the upcoming fight between former two-division champion Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler in the TUF 31 finale.
Dana White said at the conference after UFC Vegas 73
[McGregor] has to get in the USADA pool first. He’s filling out the paperwork. I don’t know how soon that will be done or what’s going on, but that’s his business that he’s handling with USADA but it’s all in motion. Hopefully, we have a big fight at Madison Square Garden in November and then a big fight in December.
As a reminder, McGregor and Chandler are currently starring on The Ultimate Fighter 31 show as coaches. Traditionally, the coaches fight each other in the finale of the project.
McGregor, 34, last fought American Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. In this fight, Conor was defeated by TKO after breaking his leg. He has 22 wins and six losses under his belt.
Chandler, 37, fought at UFC 281 in November, 2022, against Poirier. That fight ended in Michael's third-round choke loss. He has 23 wins and eight losses under his belt.
