UFC head Dana White has spoken out about the upcoming heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic and the winner's potential fight pairing with Tom Aspinall.
MMA Mania quoted White as saying at the Power Slap press conference:
I think fans are dreaming about Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. That's the fight I think they're dreaming about. I think that if Stipe [Miocic] wins the fight, or that Jones wins the fight, the way that both of those guys are wired, I think they fight Aspinall. I think that Stipe and Jon, whoever wins, should give Aspinall the same opportunity they had.
Jones last fought against Ciryl Gane in March 2023 at UFC 285. In that fight, which was stopped in the first round, Jon won by submission and claimed the UFC heavyweight championship belt. He has 27 wins and one loss on his record.
Aspinall last stepped into the octagon against Curtis Blaydes this past July at UFC 304. That fight, which was stopped in the first round, ended in favor of Tom by knockout. He has 15 wins and three losses on his record.
