Brazilian UFC fighter Johnny Walker spoke out about the light heavyweight title fight between Pole Jan Blachowicz and Russian Magomed Ankalaev, which took place in December 2022 at UFC 282.
Recall that the fight between Ankalaev and Blachowicz lasted the entire distance and ended in a draw by split decision of the judges.
Telecomasia.net correspondent quotes Johnny Walker as saying:
The Blachowicz and Ankalaev fight was 50-50. I think if you really want to win in a title fight, you have to give it your all. Don't take the fight to the judges' decision if you don't want to complain about them. If you trust the referee, the result will disappoint you.
Ankalaev and Walker will fight on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. Magomed has 17 wins, one loss and one draw. Johnny has 20 wins and seven losses.
