UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski of Australia said he should not expect an easy ride in his fight against Mexican Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 on July 8.

I’m looking at him as a real challenger, like he’s a dangerous fighter. He could be one of the most dangerous fighters I’ve fought really. When you talk about unpredictability and knockout power and so many different tools, you need to take him really serious.
Volkanovski last fought against Islam Makhachev in February of this year at UFC 284. Alex was defeated in that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 25 wins and two losses on his record.
Rodriguez last appeared in the Octagon against Josh Emmett at the same UFC 284 tournament. That fight ended in Yair's favor with a chokehold in the second round. He has 15 wins and three losses under his belt.
