Former UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski from Australia has commented on Sean O'Malley's desire to fight Ilia Topuria.
Volkanovski said on his YouTube channel:
I’m having a little rest but I’m fighting him [Topuria] later in the year or whenever that is. So I know I’m fighting for the title next so if you are going to try and squeeze that in, it better be soon because I’m next.
Recall that on March 10 at UFC 299, O'Malley defeated Marlon Vera by unanimous decision, defending his title in the bantamweight division for the first time. The 29-year-old Sean now has 18 wins and one loss to his name.
The 26-year-old Topuria last fought in February 2024 at UFC 298, defeating Alexander Volkanovski by knockout in the second round. He has 15 wins and no losses.
