UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko reacted to American Erin Blanchfield, who said she was ready to take the title from her.
Valentina Shevchenko for Morning Kombat
It's funny to hear how all these young fighters with five wins think they're the best, that they're number one in the world. You know, you can compare them to puppies. This puppy is young, it hasn't had any troubles yet, it hasn't fought strong opponents yet, it's just yapping around with its ears up.
Shevchenko will face Mexico's Alexa Grasso on the night of March 5 at UFC 285 in Las Vegas. Valentina fought at UFC 275 in June 2022 against Taila Santos of Brazil. In this fight, Valentina won by split decision. She has 23 wins and three defeats on her record.
In February of this year at the UFC Fight Night 219 tournament, Blanchfield fought Brazilian Jessica Andrade. That fight ended in Erin's favor with a choking submission in the second round. She has 11 wins and one loss.
