UFC referee Marc Goddard responded to criticism over the halting of the middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. Previously, Adesanya said the fight was stopped prematurely and he was in complete control.

Recall that on the night of November 13 at UFC 281, Alex Pereira defeated Israel Adesanya by TKO in the fifth round to win the middleweight championship belt.
Adesanya, 33, had his last fight at UFC 276 in July 2022, beating Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision. He has 23 wins and two losses under his belt
