The first UFC heavyweight champion and UFC Hall of Fame member Mark Coleman, who was previously hospitalized after a house fire, is once again in the hospital. This time, the athlete came down with pneumonia.
Coleman's daughter wrote on social media:
Yesterday my dad was released from st vincents in Toledo. We were only home for about an hour in Columbus when he started to have numbness in his arms and chest pain. Of course my sister and I rushed him back to the hospital where we found out he has now developed pneumonia. He is getting rest and I promise to take the best care of him.
Earlier in the day, a fire broke out at Coleman's home in Ohio. He was able to save his parents, but his dog, who had woken him up, did not survive.
Coleman last fought against Randy Couture in February 2010 at UFC 109. In that fight, Mark won with a choke hold in the second round. He has 16 wins and 10 losses on his mixed martial arts record.
