UFC light heavyweight division fighter Volkan Oezdemir recalled his fight against Alikhan Vakhaev at WFCA 17 in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net.
Volkan Oezdemir
I was living in Florida when I got my contract with the WFCA league. We flew across the world and landed in Makhachkala. And then traveled for five hours to Grozny. I remember arriving before the weigh-in. My whole camp I was preparing for a short, strong wrestler. But in fact he turned out to be very big. That tournament was a great celebration, even the local president and government came. People were dancing and feasting. I was very happy to be a part of that event.
Oezdemir has 19 wins and seven losses on his record. On April 9, 2016, Volkan was defeated by Alikhan Vakhaev by unanimous decision.
