UFC Does Not Guarantee Title Fight for Tsarukyan After Injury Recovery

The UFC management has not made any agreements with Armenian lightweight Arman Tsarukyan regarding a title fight immediately following his recovery from injury.

Tsarukyan withdrew from a match against UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, scheduled for January 19 at UFC 311 in Los Angeles, USA. Brazilian fighter Renato Moicano agreed to step in on short notice.

There are no specific agreements stating that Arman will immediately fight for the title upon his return.

Makhachev last fought against Dustin Poirier in June 2024 at UFC 302. Islam won that fight via submission in the fifth round. He has a record of 26 wins and one loss.

Moicano last stepped into the octagon against Benoit Saint-Denis in September 2024 at UFC Fight Night 243. That fight ended with a technical knockout in favor of Renato, who now holds a record of 20 wins, five losses, and one draw.
