Reigning UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has spoken out about Khamzat Chimaev, who became the next middleweight division title challenger after defeating Kamaru Usman.
Strickland said:
The only thing I like about Chimaev is that he sells fights. For some reason, people f*cking like him or don’t like him. I don’t know. To me, he’s a f*cking paycheck. He sells a lot of fights. People pay to watch, but he f*cking hasn’t earned it.
Chimaev faced Usman on October 21 in the co-main event of UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. This confrontation lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Khamzat by majority decision of the judges. He has 13 wins on his record without a single loss.
Strickland last entered the octagon against Israel Adesanya in September of this year at UFC 293. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Sean by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
