UFC Champion Muhammad Considered Toe Amputation to Fight Rakhmonov

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, who had to withdraw from his fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov due to a bone infection in his leg, revealed that he was willing to go to extreme lengths to save the matchup.

Belal Muhammad
Literally, I was like... it got to the point where I was like, 'Bro, what if you got rid of the toe? What do I need to do to get back in there as quickly as possible?' But the way the doctor was saying it, it was like a bone infection. So he was like, 'Bro, you'll get your foot amputated.'

It’s worth noting that on December 8, in Las Vegas (USA), Shavkat Rakhmonov is set to fight Ian Gary in UFC 310.

Gary last fought in the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, winning against Michael Page by unanimous decision. He has a record of 15 wins and no losses.

Rakhmonov last fought in December 2023 at UFC 296, defeating Stephen Thompson via submission in the second round. He boasts a record of 18 wins and no losses.
