UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno of Mexico reacted to Iraqi fighter Amir Albazi, who demanded a title fight after winning the UFC on ESPN 46 tournament.
On the night of June 4, Albazi defeated Kai Kara-France by split decision.
I'm not gonna lie to you, I think Kai Kara-France (won) that fight. But it was a close fight, you know? Man, I don't think (he's earned a title shot). But in the end, it's the UFC who makes the decision for me, for my next opponent.
On July 8, at UFC 290, Brandon Moreno will make his title defense against Brazilian Alexandre Pantoja.
Recall that this confrontation will be the third of the fighters' careers. In July 2016, as part of The Ultimate Fighter season 24, Pantoja defeated Moreno by second-round choke. The second meeting, which took place in May 2018 at UFC Fight Night 129, ended with Alexandre winning by unanimous decision of the judges.
Moreno, 29, has 21 wins and seven losses under his belt. Pantoja, 32, has 27 wins and six losses under his belt.
