Dana White, the head of UFC, announced at a press conference following Dana White's Contender Series that the heavyweight title fight between UFC champion Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will take place on November 17 at UFC 309 in New York City.
White mentioned that the official announcement for the title bout will be made once the tournament card is fully established.
Jon Jones last fought Ciryl Gane in March 2023 at UFC 285, winning the fight by submission in the first round and claiming the UFC heavyweight championship. He has a record of 27 wins and 1 loss.
Stipe Miocic last entered the octagon against Francis Ngannou in March 2021 at UFC 260, where he suffered a knockout loss in the second round. His professional record stands at 20 wins and 4 losses.
