UFC lightweight ranking number one Arman Tsarukyan answered a question about his interest in training with Khabib Nurmagomedov, who inspired him to pursue an MMA career.
Tsarukyan said at the press conference:
Yes, of course, I would like to go through a training camp with him and gain some experience, to see how they train. The most invaluable experience would come from Khabib. I think he’s more of a motivator, a pioneer who has been through all of this first. His guys have an easier time because he has already walked that path.
Recall that on January 19 in Los Angeles (USA), lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan will face off in a rematch in the main event of UFC 311.
Their first bout took place in April 2019 at UFC Fight Night 149, where Islam won by unanimous decision.
Tsarukyan, as mentioned earlier, last competed in the octagon in April 2024 at UFC 300, where he claimed victory over Charles Oliveira by split decision. He has a record of 22 wins and three losses.
Makhachev's last bout was in June 2024 at UFC 302, defeating Dustin Poirier by submission (D'Arce choke) in the fifth round, holding a record of 26 wins and one loss.
