Former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira has spoken out about the boxing match between Cameroon's Francis Ngannou and Britain's Tyson Fury.
Sherdog quotes Teixeira as saying:
It surprised me, surprised the world and shut up these boxing guys, who don't know s—t about fighting. Because they make a lot of money, they think they're the real deal and an MMA fighter won't have a chance. MMA fighters are the gladiators of the new generation. Nobody trains like us.
Ngannou and Fury met in the ring on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This fight lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Tyson by a split decision of judges. He has 34 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses.
Teixeira last fought against Jamahal Hill in January of this year at UFC 283. In that contest, Glover was defeated by unanimous decision. He has 33 wins and nine losses.
