Former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira spoke out after his loss to American Jamahal Hill in a fight for the vacant division title at UFC 283 main event in Brazil.
Glover Teixeira after the fight
I'm too tough for my own good, I can't fight anymore, I will focus on helping Poatan, he has a title to defend. I'm honored to end my career in the same card as Shogun. I wish we were in the Royce Gracie era, when there were no rounds and you could fight forever.
Recall, Teixeira and Hill fought for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. The fight lasted five rounds, in the end of which all judges gave the victory to Hill. After the tournament, Glover announced his retirement as a fighter.
Teixeira, 43, had previously fought at UFC 275 in June 2022, losing to Jiri Prochazka by choking in the fifth round. He has 33 wins and eight losses under his belt.
