Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has spoken out about his upcoming fight against Brazilian Paulo Costa at UFC 302.
BJ Penn quotes Sean as saying:
UFC 302, man, it's going to be a bloodbath. I think that me and Costa, we're going to go in the deep water. It's going to be a 25-minute war. I think we're both going to be looking at each other in that third, fourth round, thinking, “f**k, we got one more round. But mentally, as always, I'm ready to die for what I want. And I think I'm going to pick him apart.
Strickland, 33, last stepped into the octagon in January 2024 at UFC 297, losing to Dricus Du Plessis by split decision. He has 28 wins and six losses on his record.
Costa, 32, last fought in February 2024 at UFC 298, losing to Robert Whittaker by unanimous decision. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.
