UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland expressed surprise at the way former titleholder Israel Adesanya fought against him in the main event of UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia.
At the press conference after the fight Strickland said:
There were times where he was throwing punches and I was like, 'Am I fighting an amateur, right now? What the f*ck is going on?'
Before the fight with Adesanya, Strickland fought at UFC on ESPN 48 in July 2023, defeating Abusupiyan Magomedov by technical knockout in the second round. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
