Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling spoke about what he expects from the upcoming flyweight title fight between Sean O'Malley and Marlon Vera at UFC 299.
Sterling said on his YouTube channel:
I'm not rooting for anybody. I don't give a s*** who wins. The only thing I'm concerned about is I heard that Vera didn't really have a great camp. I don't know how true that is. So with that said, I'm leaning towards O'Malley to get it done. I'm gonna say, I don't think he finishes him. By decision? Maybe split decision? I'm saying split decision. O'Malley [wins].
O'Malley, 29, last fought in August 2023 at UFC 292, defeating Aljamain Sterling by technical knockout in the second round. He has 17 wins and one loss on his record.
Vera, 31, defeated Pedro Munhoz by unanimous decision at UFC 292 in August 2023. He has 23 wins, eight losses and one draw on his record.
