UFC lightweight champion Aljamain Sterling believes former two-division champion Conor McGregor needs a fight with Michael Chandler.
Aljamain Sterling for The Weekly Scraps
Conor hasn't beaten a lightweight other than Eddie Alvarez. He beat Donald Cerrone at welterweight and at the time of their fight it seemed like 'Cowboy' was not doing well in his personal life. I think that Conor needs to fight Chandler because, again, he hasn't beaten any lightweights with the exception of Eddie Alvarez.
It was previously reported that McGregor would become a coach on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) show.
McGregor, 34, last fought in the Octagon against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, a bout that ended in a first-round TKO loss to Conor. He has a record of 22 wins and six losses.
Chandler, 36, last fought at UFC 281 in November 2022, when he lost by third-round TKO to Dustin Poirier. Chandler has a record of 23 wins and eight losses.
