UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling commented on the judging in the fight between Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello.
At Bellator 289, interim bantamweight champion Stots defeated Sabatello by split decision and advanced to the one million dollar Grand Prix final.
Judges Brian Miner and Eric Colon rated the fight 48-47 in Stots' favor. Referee Doug Crosby drew a barrage of criticism on social media, giving the 50-45 win to Sabatello.
I don't know Crosby, but this has to be the most ignorant refereeing I've seen in a while at a high level in MMA. 50-45?
Stots, 33, had previously entered the cage in April 2022 as part of Bellator 279, defeating Juan Archuleta by third-round knockout. He has 19 wins and one loss under his belt.
Sabatello, 29, had his previous fight at Bellator 282 in June of this year, beating Leandro Higo by unanimous decision. He has nine wins and two losses under his belt.
